Electrical Engineer – Construction (Oman Experience Required)

Position Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Electrical Engineer with proven construction-site experience in Oman. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in shop drawings, site execution, coordination with MEP and civil teams, and compliance with Omani regulations and standards.

This role requires hands-on site involvement, technical accuracy, and the ability to manage electrical works from design review through installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and modify electrical shop drawings in compliance with project specifications and local authority requirements.

Execute and supervise electrical works on-site including:

Power distribution systems

Lighting systems

Earthing & lightning protection

Low current systems (Fire alarm, data, CCTV, etc.)

Coordinate with civil, architectural, and mechanical teams to resolve clashes and technical conflicts.

Ensure compliance with Oman’s electrical standards and authority regulations (e.g., Nama/Distribution Company requirements).

Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control of installations.

Prepare material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation.

Manage subcontractors and site workforce.

Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines.

Assist in testing & commissioning activities.

Ensure compliance with HSE standards on-site.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction projects.

At least 3 years of experience working on construction sites in Oman.

Strong knowledge of:

Shop drawing preparation and review

Load calculations and cable sizing

Single line diagrams

MEP coordination

Familiar with Oman authority approvals and regulations.

Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit is a plus).

Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.

Valid Oman driving license preferred.

Preferred Skills

Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial projects in Oman.

Knowledge of local supplier market and materials.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and reporting skills.
