About the Role

The World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Kuwait is seeking a dedicated Public Health Associate Officer to support national health initiatives and contribute to achieving public health targets. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders, driving impactful health programs in the region.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational support for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of public health programs aligned with WHO's strategic objectives.
• Assist in the analysis of health data and preparation of reports, presentations, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with national partners to facilitate knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the adoption of best practices.
• Support the organization of meetings, workshops, and training sessions, ensuring seamless logistics and documentation.
• Contribute to the development of health policies, strategies, and guidelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor progress of health initiatives, identify gaps, and recommend evidence-based solutions.

Required Qualifications

• University degree in public health, medicine, nursing, health sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in public health program management, health policy, or international health cooperation.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, multi-sectoral environment.
• Proficiency in standard office software and data analysis tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with WHO, UN agencies, or international NGOs in the health sector.
• Knowledge of Kuwait's health system and public health priorities.
• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and performance indicators.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build partnerships and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
• Certification in project management or related fields is a plus.
