Role Overview

Finland Oman School in Muscat seeks a dedicated and experienced Physics Teacher to join its faculty for the January 2025 academic term. This role involves teaching physics to students in grades 9 through 12, delivering a curriculum that aligns with Finnish educational principles while preparing students for international examinations. Core Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging physics lessons for grades 9 to 12, covering topics such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, waves, and modern physics.
• Assessment and Feedback: Design and administer formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and track student progress to ensure academic growth.
• Laboratory Management: Conduct hands-on laboratory experiments, maintain safety protocols, and manage lab equipment to enhance practical learning.
• Student Support: Offer extra help sessions, mentor students in scientific inquiry, and support individual learning needs.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the science department to refine the physics curriculum, integrate technology, and align with best practices.
• Parent Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student achievement and classroom activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Physics Education, or a closely related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid teaching certification or license.
• Minimum of two years of teaching physics at the secondary level (grades 9–12).
• Fluency in English; additional Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Familiarity with Finnish or international education systems is a plus.
