Role Overview

Forvia, a global leader in sustainable mobility technology, is seeking a Junior FES & Productivity Engineer to join our engineering team in Tunis. This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing factory efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the automotive mobility sector. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze production data, implement lean methodologies, and support the deployment of Factory Engineering Systems (FES) to maximize productivity and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze production workflows and identify bottlenecks using productivity engineering principles and lean manufacturing tools.


• Design and implement Factory Engineering Systems (FES) solutions to improve equipment effectiveness and process reliability.


• Conduct time studies, line balancing, and work measurement to optimize labor utilization and throughput.


• Lead continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, Six Sigma) targeting waste reduction, cycle time reduction, and cost savings.


• Develop and maintain productivity dashboards and KPI reporting for management review.


• Collaborate with process engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.


• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by validating process capability and productivity targets.


• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (IATF 16949) and Forvia internal engineering guidelines.

Requirements

Hard Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.


• 0-2 years of experience in productivity engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process improvement within automotive or high-volume manufacturing.


• Proficiency in lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, Kanban) and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC).


• Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical process control (SPC), Minitab, or similar data analysis software.


• Familiarity with Factory Engineering Systems (FES), MES, or ERP systems (SAP, Siemens Opcenter).


• Knowledge of automotive production processes (stamping, injection molding, assembly) and IATF 16949 requirements.


• Technical aptitude for CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA) for layout planning and workstation design.

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.


• Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and manage multiple priorities.


• Fluency in English and French (or Arabic) for daily business communication.
