Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Projects Manager – Cold Chain to join our team in Egypt. This role is critical to the success of our cold chain logistics operations, ensuring that temperature-sensitive products are stored, transported, and delivered under optimal conditions. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional projects focused on cold chain infrastructure, process optimization, and quality assurance across our delivery network.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage end-to-end cold chain logistics projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Develop and implement cold chain protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures to maintain product integrity throughout the supply chain.
- Coordinate with warehouse operations, fleet management, last-mile delivery teams, and third-party logistics providers to ensure seamless cold chain execution.
- Monitor and analyze cold chain performance metrics, including temperature compliance rates, spoilage rates, and delivery accuracy, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships related to cold chain equipment, refrigerated vehicles, and temperature monitoring technology.
- Lead risk assessment and contingency planning for cold chain disruptions, including equipment failures, weather events, and supply chain bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to deploy and optimize temperature monitoring systems, IoT sensors, and real-time tracking solutions.
- Prepare detailed project reports, status updates, and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and health and safety guidelines.
- Budget management and cost optimization for cold chain operations and capital expenditure projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within cold chain logistics, food supply chain, or temperature-controlled distribution environments.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex logistics projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of cold chain management principles, refrigeration systems, and food safety standards (HACCP, GDP, GMP).
- Excellent project management skills with proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across departments and with external partners.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Experience with IoT-based temperature monitoring systems and supply chain technology platforms.
- Familiarity with last-mile delivery operations in emerging markets.
- Experience working in a high-growth, technology-driven environment such as e-commerce or on-demand delivery.
- Knowledge of Egyptian food safety regulations and import/export compliance requirements.
