Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management, estimation, and financial control across construction projects in Egypt. This role covers the full project lifecycle, from tender preparation through to final account close-out, ensuring every project is delivered within budget and to the highest commercial standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects at all stages.


• Conduct accurate quantity take-offs and produce comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs).


• Manage variations, interim payment applications, and final accounts with precision and timeliness.


• Support the tendering process, including document preparation, analysis, and subcontractor evaluation.


• Monitor and report on cost control metrics, flagging risks and opportunities to project stakeholders.


• Perform financial analysis to support commercial decision-making and project profitability.


• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on cost and scope.

Skills & Tools

• Cost Control — Proven ability to manage project budgets and forecast final costs accurately.


• Bills of Quantities (BOQs) — Expert-level preparation and review of BOQs for tendering and contract administration.


• Microsoft Excel — Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets for cost tracking, reporting, and financial modelling.


• Quantity Take-off — Skilled in manual and digital measurement of construction works from drawings and specifications.


• Budgeting — Experience in setting, monitoring, and controlling project budgets from inception to completion.


• Financial Analysis — Ability to interpret cost data, produce variance reports, and advise on commercial strategy.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction and contracting industry in Egypt.


• Strong command of construction cost management principles, contract forms, and procurement methods.


• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail.


• Effective communication and negotiation skills for dealing with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.


• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
