Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Legal Officer - Junior Lawyer (French Speaker) to join our dynamic legal team in Qatar. Core Responsibilities
- Contract Drafting & Review: Prepare, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including service contracts, procurement agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and partnership agreements.
- Legal Advisory: Provide timely and practical legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contractual obligations to internal stakeholders across departments.
- Corporate Documentation: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of corporate records, board resolutions, shareholder agreements, and other statutory filings.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all legal instruments and business practices align with applicable Qatari laws, international regulations, and internal policies.
- Dispute Support: Collaborate with senior counsel on pre-litigation matters, dispute resolution, and liaison with external law firms when required.
- Multilingual Documentation: Draft and review legal documents in both French and English, ensuring linguistic precision and legal equivalence across languages.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on legislative updates, case law, and regulatory changes impacting the organization's operations.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of internal legal policies, templates, and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) from an accredited university.
- 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or similar professional environment.
- Full professional proficiency in French and English (written and spoken); Arabic is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of contract law, corporate law, and commercial transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal technology tools and document management systems.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience working in a multinational corporation or cross-border legal matters.
- Familiarity with Qatari legal framework, Civil Code, and Commercial Companies Law.
- Exposure to sectors such as energy, construction, finance, or technology.
