About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chef de Département Géotechnique to lead our geotechnical engineering team in Algeria. This senior role is responsible for overseeing all geotechnical investigations, design, and project execution, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to industry standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the geotechnical department, including project planning, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Lead geotechnical site investigations, soil testing, and laboratory analysis for various infrastructure and construction projects.
- Review and approve geotechnical reports, foundation designs, and slope stability analyses.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, structural engineers, and project managers to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall project designs.
- Ensure compliance with local and international geotechnical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff within the department.
- Prepare technical proposals, budgets, and schedules for geotechnical work packages.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree or State Engineer diploma in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering (Geotechnical option), or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing complex geotechnical projects from conception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio, or similar).
- Excellent command of French and/or Arabic; English is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, dams, tunnels, foundations).
- Familiarity with Algerian geotechnical standards and regulations.
- Professional certification or membership in a recognized engineering body.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
