About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated Heart of House Specialist (also known as Utility Cleaner or Kitchen Steward) to join our Food and Beverage & Culinary team in Kuwait. This back-of-house role is essential for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the hotel's kitchen and dining areas. As a Heart of House Specialist, you will support vital hotel functions by ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for both guests and staff. Your work directly impacts the guest experience and the efficiency of the culinary team. Our hotel prides itself on delivering exceptional service, and the Heart of House team is the backbone of that effort. You will work alongside experienced culinary professionals in a supportive environment that values your contribution. We provide on-the-job training to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel in this role.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces according to health and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including floors, tables, and chairs.
• Assist with dishwashing and proper storage of clean items.
• Handle waste disposal and recycling in compliance with hotel policies.
• Support kitchen staff by restocking supplies and organizing storage areas.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Follow all sanitation protocols and food safety regulations.
• Perform deep cleaning of kitchen exhaust systems, grease traps, and floor drains on a scheduled basis.
• Assist with event setups and breakdowns as needed.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role (utility cleaner, kitchen steward, or back-of-house) is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items throughout the shift.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and safety standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
