About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our premier healthcare team in Kuwait. In this senior-level position, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional eye care, diagnosing complex ocular conditions, and performing advanced surgical procedures. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a state-of-the-art medical facility dedicated to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with a wide range of eye conditions.
• Perform routine and complex ophthalmic surgeries, including cataract, glaucoma, corneal, and vitreoretinal procedures.
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as OCT, visual fields, and fluorescein angiography to guide clinical decisions.
• Lead and mentor junior medical staff, residents, and allied health professionals within the ophthalmology department.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care, ensuring optimal recovery and patient education.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other specialties for integrated management of systemic diseases affecting the eyes.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical research activities.

Required Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Ophthalmology (American, Canadian, UK, or equivalent recognized qualification).
• Valid license to practice medicine in Kuwait (or eligibility for immediate licensure).
• Minimum of 5 years of post-certification clinical experience in ophthalmology.
• Proven track record of performing a high volume of surgical procedures.
• Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken) is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Fellowship or advanced training in a subspecialty (e.g., vitreoretinal, glaucoma, cornea, pediatric ophthalmology).
• Experience in a public or private hospital setting in the Gulf region.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and emergency on-call duties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
• Research publications in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals.
