SAIDA, a well-established company specializing in building and public works across Tunis, is seeking a skilled Chauffeur Tractopelle/Courier to join their operational team. This dual-function role combines heavy machinery operation with logistical delivery responsibilities, supporting active construction sites throughout the region. Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate backhoe loader (tractopelle) for excavation, loading, and site preparation tasks on active construction projects.
- Execute courier and delivery runs transporting materials, tools, and documents between sites, warehouses, and offices.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections on the tractopelle and light delivery vehicle to ensure mechanical readiness.
- Load, secure, and unload construction materials following proper handling procedures to prevent damage or injury.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment operating hours, fuel consumption, and delivery completion records.
- Comply with all site-specific safety protocols, including PPE requirements and traffic management plans.
- Coordinate with site foremen and logistics coordinators to prioritize daily task schedules efficiently.
- Report equipment malfunctions, route delays, or safety hazards immediately to the fleet supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Tunisian driving license (permis de conduire) with appropriate categories for heavy machinery and light vehicles.
- Proven experience operating tractopelle/backhoe loaders on construction or public works sites.
- Prior work history in the building and public works (BTP) sector within Tunisia.
- Solid understanding of construction site safety regulations and heavy equipment operating procedures.
- Ability to perform courier duties reliably, including route planning and time-sensitive deliveries.
- Physical stamina for extended equipment operation and manual loading/unloading tasks.
- Clean driving record with no major violations; references from previous BTP employers preferred.
