About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Planning Engineer to join our team in Tanta, Egypt. This role is ideal for a construction or consultancy professional who excels in project planning, scheduling, and controls. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning tools.
- Prepare and update Bill of Quantities (BOQs) in coordination with the quantity surveying and engineering teams.
- Track project progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays or risks early.
- Prepare regular progress reports, variance analyses, and performance dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage and process project claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submissions.
- Review and interpret contracts, ensuring all planning activities align with contractual terms and conditions.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on milestones and deliverables.
- Support the project controls function by providing accurate data on resource allocation, cost forecasting, and schedule performance.
- Participate in project review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes and methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant experience in construction or consultancy environments.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret complex project data.
- Solid knowledge of BOQs, claims, contracts, and project controls.
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions and international project standards.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) techniques.
- Professional certification in project planning or project management (e.g., PMP, AACE) is a plus.
