Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager (Responsable de Production) to oversee and optimize our manufacturing operations based in Tunis. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the production plan, allocating resources, and driving continuous improvement in production processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and output.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the production plan in close collaboration with the methods and planning teams.
- Dimension and allocate production resources, including workforce, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Monitor and analyze production KPIs such as output rates, cycle times, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes by identifying bottlenecks, reducing waste, and implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including quality control, supply chain, maintenance, and logistics, to ensure smooth production flow.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all production activities.
- Manage and develop production staff, including shift scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and skills development.
- Prepare and present regular production reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistent product quality.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives within the production department without compromising quality or safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience of several years in a production management or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling methodologies.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in industrial settings.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and standard office software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Effective communication skills in French; knowledge of Arabic and/or English is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), or PMP.
- Experience with automation and Industry 4.0 technologies in production environments.
- Background in managing large-scale production operations with multiple product lines.
- Experience in budget management and cost control within a production department.
- Track record of successfully leading change management initiatives on the production floor.
