Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Department Manager specializing in Offshore Structural Engineering to join our team in Qatar. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the offshore structural engineering department, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex offshore projects within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the offshore structural engineering department, ensuring technical excellence across all project phases
- Oversee the design, analysis, and engineering of offshore structures including platforms, subsea structures, and marine facilities
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project management, and client stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Develop and implement departmental strategies, resource planning, and workforce development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with international offshore engineering standards, codes, and HSE regulations
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff within the department
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, design calculations, and technical documentation
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, quality assurance, and operational efficiency
Requirements
Hard Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in offshore structural engineering within the energy, oil and gas, or petrochemical industries
- Strong knowledge of offshore design codes and standards (API, ISO, DNV, AISC, etc.)
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SACS, SESAM, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in department management, team leadership, and resource allocation
- Project management capabilities with experience handling large-scale offshore engineering projects
Soft Skills
