Core Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced independent and collaborative research in inorganic chemistry, contributing to the university's growing portfolio of scientific publications.
- Design, plan, and execute experimental work in areas related to inorganic chemistry, including synthesis, characterization, and analysis of inorganic compounds and materials.
- Prepare and publish high-impact research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Present research outcomes at national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Collaborate with faculty members, research staff, and graduate students on interdisciplinary research projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of research grant proposals and funding applications.
- Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students involved in laboratory research activities.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and manage research-related supplies and materials.
- Participate in departmental seminars, academic meetings, and university-wide research initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD in Inorganic Chemistry or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Demonstrated expertise in inorganic chemistry research, with a strong track record of experimental and/or computational work.
- Proven ability to publish research in high-impact, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Strong laboratory skills, including experience with modern analytical and spectroscopic techniques relevant to inorganic chemistry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary research team.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with advanced characterization methods such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, or electron microscopy.
- Background in materials chemistry, catalysis, coordination chemistry, or organometallic chemistry.
- Experience in securing research funding or contributing to successful grant applications.
- Familiarity with computational chemistry tools and molecular modeling software.
- Prior experience in mentoring students or supervising junior researchers.
- Experience working in an international or multicultural academic environment.
