Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Purchaser of Indirect Materiel to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will manage and execute operational purchasing activities in full alignment with Group Purchasing (GP) policies, principles, guidelines, and procedures, with a primary focus on Raw Materials (RM) and indirect materials sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end operational purchasing tasks for indirect materiel and raw materials in compliance with Group Purchasing policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best value, quality, and delivery terms for indirect materials.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and departments to identify purchasing requirements and ensure timely procurement.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation within the procurement management system.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead times, proactively resolving any supply chain disruptions or delivery issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to procurement compliance standards, budgetary controls, and approval workflows.
- Prepare and analyze purchasing reports, spend data, and cost-saving initiatives to support strategic decision-making.
- Continuously identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supplier consolidation.
- Support the development and implementation of purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Coordinate with the Group Purchasing team to leverage collective buying power and standardize procurement processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
- Proven experience in operational purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within indirect materiel or raw materials categories.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing principles, negotiation techniques, and supplier relationship management.
- Familiarity with Group Purchasing policies, procurement compliance, and contract management.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a multinational or large-scale organization with centralized procurement functions.
- Knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms) and import/export regulations.
- Experience in developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Multilingual abilities are an asset.
