ELV PreSales Engineer (Low Voltage) - Kuwait
We are seeking an experienced ELV PreSales Engineer to lead presales activities for Extra Low Voltage (ELV) and ICT systems across government, oil & gas, and large commercial projects in Kuwait. This role demands deep technical expertise in low voltage systems, strong estimation capabilities, and full ownership of technical proposals and tender responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end presales lifecycle for ELV/ICT tenders including requirement analysis, solution design, and technical proposal development
- Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimations, and technical specifications for low voltage systems
- Design and present technical solutions for: Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire Alarm & Detection, CCTV & Surveillance, Access Control, Public Address & Voice Evacuation, Structured Cabling, Audio-Visual (AV) Systems, and Security & Safety Systems
- Collaborate with sales, project management, and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance and commercial viability
- Conduct site surveys, client meetings, and technical presentations to stakeholders and consultants
- Review and respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs with technically compliant and competitive proposals
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ELV technologies, industry standards (NFPA, IEC, BS), and local Kuwait regulations
- Support post-tender clarification, value engineering, and contract negotiation phases
- Build and maintain relationships with consultants, system integrators, and key decision-makers in government and oil & gas sectors
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of presales experience specifically in ELV / Low Voltage systems within the GCC region
- Proven track record in government, oil & gas, and large commercial project tenders in Kuwait
- In-depth knowledge of major ELV brands: Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Bosch, Legrand, CommScope, Panduit, Axis, Genetec, Milestone, etc.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and estimation software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam)
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken); Arabic is a strong advantage
- Valid Kuwait driving license and ability to travel to project sites
Core Technical Competencies
- ELV System Design: BMS, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, PA/VA, Structured Cabling (Cat6/Cat6a/Fiber), AV, Nurse Call, Queue Management, Parking Management
- Standards & Codes: NFPA 72, NFPA 70, IEC 60364, BS 5839, TIA/EIA-568, ISO/IEC 11801
- Tendering & Estimation: BOQ preparation, man-hour calculation, material costing, subcontractor evaluation, risk assessment
- Proposal Development: Technical write-ups, system architecture diagrams, single line diagrams, compliance matrices, deviation schedules
Preferred Certifications
- BICSI RCDD / DCDC / INSTC
- Manufacturer certifications (Honeywell, Siemens, Axis, Genetec, etc.)
- PMP or Prince2 (advantageous)
- NEBOSH / IOSH (for oil & gas sector compliance)
Work Environment
Based in Kuwait (Al Asimah) with site visits across the country. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and direct engagement with high-profile clients in the public and private sectors. The position offers exposure to mega-projects and cutting-edge smart building technologies.
