We are seeking to recruit a Civil Engineer with a minimum
experience Five Years in Oman, the experience should be in Road
Construction and Excavations, in the Oil & Gas fields The
candidate must have previously worked with (PDO) and Occidental
(OXY) , either in direct contract implementation or subcontract
implementation. A civil engineer with oil and gas road
construction experience possesses a unique blend of technical
expertise, project management skills, and industry-specific
knowledge that enables them to handle complex infrastructure
projects from conception to completion. Core Competencies and
Skills • Site Assessment and Planning: Conducting detailed
surveys and geotechnical investigations to evaluate terrain, soil
stability, and environmental impact, ensuring optimal route
selection and design. • Design and Engineering: Developing
detailed road designs that accommodate heavy machinery, pipeline
crossings, and other oil and gas infrastructure, adhering to
safety standards and environmental regulations. • Construction
Management: Overseeing construction activities, coordinating with
contractors, and ensuring adherence to project timelines,
budgets, and quality standards. • Safety and Compliance:
Implementing safety protocols specific to oil and gas projects,
including hazard mitigation and regulatory compliance to prevent
accidents and environmental hazards. • Material and Equipment
Management: Managing procurement and logistics of construction
materials and specialized equipment required for challenging
terrains and sensitive environments. Industry-Specific
Challenges Oil and gas road construction projects often involve
unique challenges such as working in remote locations, dealing
with environmentally sensitive areas, and ensuring minimal
ecological disruption. Civil engineers must incorporate
sustainable practices, such as erosion control, habitat
preservation, and waste management, into their project
plans. Furthermore, these projects demand rigorous safety
standards due to the presence of hazardous materials and the
potential for accidents. Engineers must coordinate closely with
environmental agencies, safety inspectors, and industry
stakeholders to ensure compliance and safety throughout the
project lifecycle. Project Lifecycle and
Responsibilities 1. Feasibility Studies: Assessing project
viability considering technical, environmental, and economic
factors. 2. Design and Planning: Creating detailed engineering
drawings, specifications, and project schedules. 3. Construction
Execution: Supervising construction activities, quality control,
and resolving on-site issues. 4. Commissioning and Handover:
Ensuring the completed road meets all standards and handing over
to operational teams. In summary, a civil engineer with oil and
