Workshop Supervisor cum Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Workshop Supervisor cum Mechanic for our operations in Oman. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in mechanical repairs, diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and workshop supervision, particularly in heavy trucks, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, heavy machinery, and automotive workshop operations.

The candidate will be responsible for supervising workshop activities while also performing hands-on mechanical work when required, ensuring quality repairs, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage daily workshop operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of repair jobs.
Perform and oversee mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
Handle hands-on mechanical work related to engines, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, hydraulics, cooling systems, electrical basics, and driveline components.
Diagnose technical and mechanical issues and provide effective repair solutions.
Assign repair and maintenance jobs to technicians and monitor work quality and productivity.
Ensure all repair works are completed according to manufacturer standards and company procedures.
Conduct final inspection and quality checks before vehicle/equipment delivery.
Coordinate with spare parts department to ensure timely availability of required components.
Maintain workshop discipline, cleanliness, tools, equipment, and safety standards.
Prepare workshop reports, maintenance schedules, job cards, and repair updates.
Train and support technicians in troubleshooting and mechanical repair activities.
Attend vehicle/equipment breakdowns and provide technical support when required.
Ensure proper maintenance of workshop tools and machinery.
Maintain customer satisfaction through efficient repair and service quality.
Ensure compliance with company policies, workshop SOPs, and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Workshop Supervisor, Senior Mechanic, or Workshop Supervisor cum Mechanic, preferably in Oman or GCC market.
Strong hands-on experience in mechanical workshop operations, especially in heavy trucks, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, heavy machinery, or automotive workshop sector.
Excellent knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmission systems, suspension, brakes, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Ability to independently diagnose and repair mechanical failures.
Experience in supervising workshop staff and managing workshop productivity.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of Oman market and workshop operations will be an added advantage.
Valid Oman/GCC Driving License preferred.
Willingness to attend emergency breakdown services when required.
