We are seeking a dedicated Specialist in Neonatology to provide specialized medical care to newborn infants from birth through their first few months of life, primarily within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Muscat, Oman. As a Neonatologist, you will be responsible for managing complex neonatal conditions, performing neonatal resuscitation, and ensuring optimal outcomes for preterm and critically ill newborns. This role requires a deep understanding of NICU management, preterm infant care, and congenital anomaly screening.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized medical care to newborn infants from birth through their first few months of life, primarily within the NICU.
• Manage complex neonatal conditions and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including pediatric subspecialists.
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization procedures for high-risk deliveries.
• Monitor and assess infant growth and development, including developmental follow-up.
• Communicate with families regarding treatment plans, prognoses, and long-term care needs.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research to enhance neonatal care protocols.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff and residents in neonatal intensive care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with specialization in Neonatology (or equivalent as a Newborn Medicine Specialist).
• Board certification or equivalent in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
• Valid medical license to practice in Oman.
• Proven experience in managing high-risk pregnancies and neonatal emergencies within a Level III NICU.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for family counseling and team collaboration.
