Dematology Specialist Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Dematology Specialist to join our medical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a comprehensive range of dermatological conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. This role requires clinical excellence, procedural proficiency, and a patient-centered approach to dermatological care.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of skin disorders, including but not limited to acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and skin infections.
- Evaluate and treat hair and scalp conditions such as alopecia, hirsutism, and follicular disorders.
- Address nail pathologies including fungal infections, dystrophies, and inflammatory nail diseases.
- Perform dermatological procedures including skin biopsies (punch, shave, excisional), cryotherapy for benign and premalignant lesions, electrocautery, and other minor surgical procedures.
- Conduct full-body skin examinations for early detection of skin cancer and melanoma surveillance.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating topical, systemic, and procedural therapies.
- Provide patient education on skin health, sun protection, and chronic disease management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for complex cases requiring referral to oncology, rheumatology, or plastic surgery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advances in dermatology through continuing medical education and professional development.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Dermatology.
- Valid medical license to practice in Oman.
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Dermatology Specialist post-residency.
- Proven expertise in dermatological procedures: skin biopsy techniques, cryotherapy, electrocautery, curettage, and minor excisions.
- Experience with dermoscopy and digital imaging for lesion monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of dermatopathology correlation.
Technical & Clinical Skills
- Proficiency in dermatoscopy and confocal microscopy.
- Competence in cosmetic dermatology procedures (botulinum toxin, fillers, chemical peels, laser therapies) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with biologic therapies for inflammatory skin diseases.
- Ability to interpret histopathological reports and correlate with clinical findings.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems proficiency.
