Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Islamic Studies Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in Islamic sciences, including Quranic studies, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqidah, and Islamic history. The role involves fostering spiritual and moral development while aligning with national curriculum standards and school ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons covering Quran recitation (Tajweed), memorization (Hifz), Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Seerah, and Islamic ethics.
- Develop and follow structured revision schedules using past examination papers to prepare students for external assessments (where applicable to specific grade levels).
- Design differentiated instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning abilities and language proficiencies.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations; provide timely feedback and maintain accurate records.
- Integrate technology and interactive resources to enhance comprehension and retention of Islamic concepts.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align Islamic Studies curriculum with broader school objectives and cross-curricular themes.
- Organize and supervise co-curricular activities such as Quran competitions, Islamic awareness weeks, and community service projects.
- Maintain a positive, respectful classroom environment that reflects Islamic values and promotes student wellbeing.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Shariah, Quranic Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent certification).
- Minimum 2–3 years of classroom experience teaching Islamic Studies at primary or secondary level.
- Strong command of classical Arabic (Fusha) and proficiency in English for bilingual instruction environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Tajweed rules, Quranic memorization methodologies, and age-appropriate pedagogical approaches.

- Curriculum planning and lesson design aligned with ministry or international standards.
- Classroom management rooted in positive discipline and Islamic character education.
- Student assessment design, data analysis, and progress reporting.
- Effective communication with students, parents, and staff in multicultural settings.
- Digital literacy: LMS platforms, interactive whiteboards, educational apps for Quranic learning.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to address contemporary issues through an Islamic lens.
Desirable Attributes
- Ijazah in Quran recitation or memorization (Hifz).
- Experience with international curricula (IB, British, American) Islamic Studies frameworks.
- Background in student counseling or pastoral care within an Islamic context.
- Published educational resources or contributions to Islamic Studies pedagogy.
