Job Overview

The Head of Information Security is the executive accountable for the organization's information security function. This senior leadership role is responsible for protecting the organization's information assets, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, and leading the cybersecurity strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee the management of security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Establish and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts to protect against cyber threats.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and legal requirements.
• Manage the security budget, resources, and vendor relationships.
• Report to executive leadership and board on security posture and incidents.
• Foster a security-aware culture through training and awareness programs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and security technologies.
• Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, and application security.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience in the Qatar market or similar regulatory environment is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills: Security architecture, incident response, penetration testing, SIEM, firewalls, encryption, identity and access management.

Soft Skills: Decision-making, team leadership, stakeholder management, crisis management, analytical thinking.
