Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - Lifting to oversee and manage all lifting operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of critical and complex lifts. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of industry experience, including 5 years of international exposure, and hands-on expertise in handling large-scale lifting projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all lifting activities, including critical and complex lifts, in compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
• Lead a team of riggers, crane operators, and lifting supervisors to ensure optimal performance and adherence to procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, lift studies, and method statements for all lifting operations.
• Ensure proper selection, inspection, and maintenance of lifting equipment, including cranes, slings, shackles, and spreader bars.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop lift plans and schedules.
• Monitor compliance with international lifting standards (e.g., ASME, LOLER, ISO) and company safety policies.
• Prepare and maintain lifting documentation, reports, and incident records.
• Train and mentor junior staff on safe lifting practices and equipment operation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 10 years of experience in lifting operations within heavy industries such as oil & gas, construction, marine, or renewables.
• At least 5 years of international experience, preferably in the Middle East, Asia, or Africa.
• Hands-on experience in performing critical lifts, including tandem lifts, heavy lifts, and lifts in confined spaces.
• Strong knowledge of crane types (mobile, crawler, tower) and lifting accessories.
• Certification in lifting supervision or management (e.g., CPCS, NCCCO, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in lift planning software and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with HSE requirements and incident investigation methodologies.

Experience

10+ years of relevant industry experience, with a proven track record of managing complex lifting projects safely and efficiently. International experience is mandatory.

Additional Information

This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. The successful candidate will be based in Oman and may need to travel to project sites as required.
