About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist in Interventional Cardiology to join our leading cardiovascular team in Amman. This role is pivotal in managing complex coronary and structural heart diseases, performing advanced catheter-based procedures, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a state-of-the-art catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients with acute and chronic coronary syndromes.
- Conduct cardiac catheterization procedures, including right and left heart catheterization, hemodynamic assessment, and intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT).
- Manage pacemaker implantation, including temporary and permanent pacemakers, and provide ongoing device follow-up and troubleshooting.
- Oversee the comprehensive management of cardiovascular diseases, including ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, and heart failure.
- Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, electrophysiologists, and critical care teams to develop integrated treatment plans.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency percutaneous interventions and acute cardiac care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with board certification or specialist qualification in Interventional Cardiology.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of post-specialization experience in interventional cardiology, including high-volume PCI and complex coronary interventions.
- Proven expertise in cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, angioplasty, and pacemaker implantation.
- Valid license to practice medicine in Jordan (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic (preferred).
- Strong commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with structural heart interventions (e.g., TAVR, MitraClip) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities such as IVUS, OCT, and FFR.
- Research publications in peer-reviewed cardiology journals.
- Teaching experience in academic or training settings.
