About the Role
We are urgently hiring a Civil Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join an EPC company operating in Oman. In this role, you will ensure that all construction activities and materials strictly adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory codes. You will monitor work from the initial stages through project completion, playing a critical role in maintaining quality, safety, and compliance across all civil engineering operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Inspect all civil construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project quality plans.
- Monitor and verify material quality, workmanship, and installation methods against industry standards and regulatory codes.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, method statements, and material approvals.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QC inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
- Ensure all testing and commissioning activities for civil works are performed according to approved procedures.
- Maintain and update the project's Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and quality records.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on-site during all inspection activities.
- Support the QA/QC Manager in implementing the project's Quality Management System (QMS).
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil quality control inspection within EPC or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of international construction standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO).
- Proven experience with inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Valid driving license is required.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience working on EPC projects in Oman or the GCC region.
- Certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQI, or equivalent quality certifications.
- Familiarity with welding inspection, NDT methods, and structural steel quality checks.
- Proficiency in using QC documentation software and MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
