About the Role

American International University (AIU), a private institution in Kuwait, is seeking a dedicated Security Coordinator to join our Institutional Support team. Reporting directly to the Director of Security, this role ensures the safety and security of AIU's campus, staff, and students. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and experience in security operations within an educational or institutional environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Security in developing and implementing comprehensive security policies and procedures aligned with institutional goals.
• Coordinate daily security operations, including shift scheduling, patrols, and access control at campus entrances.
• Monitor surveillance systems, respond to alarms, and manage incident reporting in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
• Liaise with local security authorities and emergency services to ensure coordinated response protocols.
• Train and supervise security personnel on best practices, emergency procedures, and use of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents, visitor logs, and equipment inventories.
• Support the planning and execution of security measures for special events on campus.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in security coordination or a similar role, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of modern security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems) and emergency response procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Valid security certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Familiarity with Kuwaiti security regulations and licensing requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and security management software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
