About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Affairs & Governance (General Counsel) to support the CEO in the execution of the family office strategy. This senior-level position provides oversight of governance activities, coordinates professional advisers, and ensures the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the CEO in the development and execution of the family office strategic vision and long-term objectives.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel and governance oversight across all family office entities and investments.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external professional advisers, including law firms, auditors, and regulatory consultants.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks, corporate governance standards, and fiduciary duties.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal agreements, contracts, and corporate documentation.
- Advise on risk management strategies, dispute resolution, and litigation matters.
- Oversee board meetings, prepare governance reports, and maintain statutory records.
- Lead strategic initiatives related to corporate restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, and succession planning.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the family office and proactively recommend adjustments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or higher qualification (LLM preferred) from a recognized institution.
- Licensed to practice law with a minimum of 10–15 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, governance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working within a family office, private wealth management, or high-net-worth advisory environment.
- Deep knowledge of corporate governance principles, regulatory compliance, and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in contract law, commercial transactions, and cross-border legal frameworks.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
- Ability to work with discretion, integrity, and the utmost confidentiality.
