About the Role
Democracy International is seeking a dedicated professional to support the "Civil Society Activity" project in Tunisia. This initiative aims to empower Tunisian citizens to take action and advocate for specific issues that matter to their communities. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing and overseeing health insurance-related components within the project framework, ensuring beneficiaries receive proper coverage and support throughout program implementation.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate health insurance processes for project beneficiaries and participants
- Ensure compliance with local health insurance regulations and organizational policies
- Liaise with insurance providers, healthcare facilities, and government agencies on behalf of the project
- Maintain accurate records of insurance enrollments, claims, and renewals
- Support the civil society activity team in delivering program objectives related to citizen empowerment
- Prepare regular reports on insurance coverage status and beneficiary feedback
- Assist in resolving insurance-related issues and grievances from project participants
- Collaborate with field teams to identify communities in need of health insurance support
- Contribute to capacity-building workshops and awareness sessions on health insurance rights
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health insurance interventions within the project scope
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in health insurance, social protection, or NGO project management
- Strong knowledge of the Tunisian health insurance system and civil society landscape
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
- Proficiency in both Arabic and French; English is a strong asset
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience working with international organizations or development projects in Tunisia
- Familiarity with Democracy International's mission and areas of intervention
- Experience in community outreach and citizen engagement initiatives
- Proficiency in data management tools and reporting software
- Understanding of gender-sensitive approaches in health programming
- Ability to travel to project sites across Tunisia as needed
