About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team on-site in Qatar. This full-time position is ideal for a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the construction, infrastructure, and building construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all on-site construction activities and operations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure strict compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards in Qatar.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality control, and adherence to project specifications.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports, progress updates, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders.
- Resolve on-site challenges and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Implement and enforce comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on-site.
- Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and approvals.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 20+ years of proven experience in construction management within the construction, infrastructure, or building construction sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and project management best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and direct diverse teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD).
- Thorough understanding of Qatar's construction regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Experience working on mega infrastructure projects in the Gulf region.
- Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and green building standards (e.g., LEED).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
