About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a factory group in Egypt. This full-time position involves the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment within an industrial setting. The ideal candidate will ensure all electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, panels, wiring, motors, and control circuits.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in production machinery and facility infrastructure.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment according to technical specifications and safety codes.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and restore operational functionality with minimal downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts inventory, and equipment condition reports.
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance windows without disrupting workflow.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety standards.
- Assist in upgrading or retrofitting legacy electrical systems as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field.
- Proven hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within an industrial or factory environment.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and thermal imaging cameras.
- Understanding of national and international electrical codes and safety standards.
- Ability to work full-time on-site and respond to urgent maintenance requests.
- Good physical fitness to work in an industrial environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting equipment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar).
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems and SCADA.
- Certifications in electrical safety or industrial maintenance.
- Familiarity with HVAC electrical systems and building management systems (BMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams.
