Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Prévendeur (Field Sales Representative) to join our commercial team in Algiers, Algeria. This role is ideal for a sales professional with a strong background in pre-selling and direct distribution, particularly within the cosmetics or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector. As a Prévendeur, you will be the driving force behind expanding our market presence, building lasting relationships with retail points of sale, and consistently achieving sales targets.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute daily field visits to existing and prospective retail outlets, pharmacies, and supermarkets to promote and sell our product portfolio.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with store managers, pharmacists, and key decision-makers.
- Present product catalogs, negotiate pricing, and close direct sales on every visit.
- Implement merchandising strategies and ensure optimal product placement, shelf visibility, and stock rotation at all assigned points of sale.
- Conduct competitor analysis and gather market intelligence on pricing, promotions, and new product launches within the cosmetics and FMCG landscape.
- Prepare and submit daily activity reports, including sales figures, order volumes, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate closely with the distribution and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and minimize stock-outs.
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the sales management.
- Organize and participate in product launches, promotional events, and sampling campaigns to drive brand awareness.
- Provide after-sales support and handle customer complaints promptly to ensure high satisfaction and retention.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 02 years of proven experience in pre-selling (prévente) or direct distribution, ideally within the cosmetics or FMCG sector.
- Valid Category A driving license (permis de conduire catégorie A) — must be current and in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of the Algerian retail landscape, distribution channels, and consumer goods market.
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in French (professional level) for reporting and communication; proficiency in Arabic (Darija) for customer interactions is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage an independent territory and schedule.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and order management.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with international or well-known cosmetics brands.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and mobile sales applications.
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and planogram execution.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
