The ICRC Delegation in Libya has a vacancy for: Protection Field
Officer The position will be based in the Tripoli Sub-Delegation
Under the supervision of the PROT Team Leader, the PROT FO 1
contributes to the implementation and development of ICRC PROT
activities in the SD AoR. S/he supports activities related to
general protection activities including monitoring and reporting
on protection of civilian population (PCP), protection of family
links (PFL) and forensics. S/he also serves as the replacement of
other o PROT FOs within the SD PROT team in their absence. Main
Responsibilities: Contributes to analysing the humanitarian,
political and security environment to identify protection needs
in the AoR, and draft situation report accordingly.Supports with
the definition, implementation, and monitoring of the wider
protection strategy and action plan for the areas of
responsibilities under the supervision of the protection team
leader and in coordination with the management and assistance
team.Analyses relevant data and draft internal reports; assists
in institutional exercises relating to planning, budgeting, and
monitoring programs.Collects, compiles and translates protection
related information and carries out protection activities under
the supervision of the Protection team Leader.Helps to organize,
prepare, report on, and follow up on internal and external
meetings.Develops and maintains contact with external
interlocutors including municipal/regional authorities, LRCS,
other humanitarian actors, beneficiaries and community leaders as
needed, with a view to establish alink with affected people
(IDPs, returnees, minors, etc); specifically for tracing purposes
and understanding of the context/situation.With colleagues of
other departments, prepares and participates in multidisciplinary
field trips within the AoRParticipates in regular field trips
including overnights field trips to distant locations.Delivers
dissemination sessions to different audiences to promote ICRC
protection mandate and IHL. Required background, skills and
experience: University degree or equivalent (preferably
humanities and social sciences, law, international studies,
gender, development studies, psychology, etc.)Excellent command
(spoken and written) of Arabic and English.Very good writing and
reporting skills.Excellent analytical and communication
skills.Good planning and organizational skills.Computer
proficiency required.2 – 3 years overall professional
experience, preferably in the humanitarian field and/or field of
political, legal, or economic sciences.1-2 years’ experience
with the ICRC or another humanitarian agency an asset.1-2
years’ experience in liaising with governmental authorities,
and/or national/international institutions.Good knowledge of
protection tools and guidelines.Good understanding of ICRC
