About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Contracts to lead all contract negotiations and administration within our LNG trading division, including re-gasification operations. This senior leadership role is based in Qatar and requires a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of LNG trading contracts, risk management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of contract professionals, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of LNG trading contracts, from negotiation to execution and administration.
- Manage contract terms for re-gasification agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and commercial requirements.
- Develop and implement contract strategies that align with business objectives and market conditions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including legal, finance, and trading desks to optimize contract outcomes.
- Monitor contract performance, identify risks, and propose mitigation measures.
- Ensure all contracts adhere to company policies and international trade standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in contract management within the LNG, oil & gas, or energy trading sector.
- Proven track record in leading contract negotiations for LNG sales and purchase agreements (SPAs) and re-gasification contracts.
- Strong understanding of international energy markets, LNG pricing mechanisms, and trade regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Experience working in the Middle East, particularly Qatar, is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with long-term and spot LNG contracts.
- Knowledge of shipping and logistics related to LNG cargoes.
- Familiarity with Qatar's energy sector and regulatory environment.
