About the Role
Six Senses Zighy Bay, a world-renowned luxury resort located in the Musandam Peninsula of Oman, is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Lifeguard to join its operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests and team members utilizing the resort's aquatic facilities. This position is central to upholding the Six Senses vision of helping people reconnect with themselves, others, and the world around them through exceptional hospitality and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor all swimming pools, beach areas, and water-based activity zones to prevent accidents and respond swiftly to emergencies.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations consistently while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.
- Perform water rescues using established techniques and administer first aid or CPR when necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections of pool and beach equipment, ensuring all safety gear is in proper working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pool deck, changing rooms, and surrounding areas.
- Report any hazards, maintenance issues, or incidents to the relevant supervisor immediately.
- Assist with guest orientation on water safety guidelines and resort aquatic facilities.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions, drills, and certification updates as required by the resort.
- Collaborate with the recreation and water sports teams to support guest activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of incidents, rescues, and safety checks.
Requirements
- Valid lifeguard certification from a recognized authority (e.g., ILST, Red Cross, or equivalent).
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
- Proven experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a luxury hotel, resort, or high-traffic aquatic environment.
- Strong swimming ability and physical fitness to perform rescues in various water conditions.
- Excellent observation skills and the ability to remain alert for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Professional appearance and a guest-oriented attitude aligned with the Six Senses brand values.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in open-water or beach lifeguarding environments.

- Additional certifications such as water sports instruction, oxygen administration, or emergency medical response.
