About the Job
A Site Engineer in Qatar drives project success through hands-on planning, scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, and technical direction. This role sits at the intersection of field execution and project management, requiring a professional who translates design intent into built reality while maintaining strict safety standards. The position demands fluency in construction workflows, contract specifications, and multidisciplinary coordination across civil, structural, and MEP interfaces. Engineers in this capacity act as the primary technical authority on-site, ensuring deliverables align with quality benchmarks, program milestones, and budgetary constraints.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programs including critical path analysis, resource-loaded schedules, and look-ahead plans
- Manage daily resource allocation across labor, plant, and materials to optimize productivity and minimize waste
- Monitor project costs against budgets, prepare variance reports, and recommend corrective actions for overruns
- Provide technical direction to subcontractors and site teams on specification compliance, construction methods, and quality standards
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols through daily inspections, toolbox talks, and incident investigations
- Coordinate with design consultants, project managers, and quantity surveyors to resolve technical queries and design conflicts
- Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans, and material submittals prior to work commencement
- Maintain accurate site records including daily logs, progress photos, correspondence registers, and as-built documentation
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent construction-related discipline
- Minimum 5 years site engineering experience on commercial, infrastructure, or high-rise projects in the GCC
- Proven expertise in Primavera P6 or MS Project for planning, scheduling, and earned value management
- Strong command of construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC), specification interpretation, and variation management
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractor performance
- Valid Qatari driving license and familiarity with local authority approvals (Ashghal, Kahramaa, Civil Defense)
- Professional engineering registration (MMUP/UPDA) or eligibility for immediate registration
