We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Supplier Quality Engineer to join our growing team in Algiers, Algeria. This role is critical for managing vendor qualification processes, conducting rigorous audits, and driving continuous improvement across our service provider network. The ideal candidate will act as a Supplier Quality Manager or Vendor Quality Lead, ensuring that all external partners meet stringent compliance and performance standards while supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end vendor qualification process, evaluating potential service providers against technical, quality, and regulatory criteria.
- Plan and execute comprehensive supplier audits to verify adherence to contractual obligations and industry best practices.
- Manage non-conformance resolution by root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain Supplier Quality Agreements (SQA) to define clear performance metrics and quality expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain, utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to align supplier capabilities with project requirements.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and generate regular quality reports for senior management review.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior quality engineers and inspection staff.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) or a related quality engineering role.
- Proven track record in vendor management, including conducting on-site audits and managing supplier development programs.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001 and relevant industry-specific standards.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, APQP, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex non-conformances.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with international and local suppliers.
