Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Service Engineer to support the development and execution of on-site installation, servicing, and repair processes for complex equipment and systems in Qatar. This role involves delivering technical presentations to customers, providing expert troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal equipment performance and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support on-site installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of complex industrial or medical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related faults on sophisticated systems.
- Develop and improve service procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for clients and stakeholders.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support, including emergency response for critical equipment failures.
- Train customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales teams to relay field feedback for product improvements.
- Manage service reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies during all field activities.
- Coordinate spare parts logistics and inventory management for timely service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer or Field Service Engineer with complex equipment.
- Proven expertise in installation, maintenance, and repair of sophisticated systems (e.g., medical devices, industrial machinery, analytical instruments).
- Strong proficiency in reading schematics, PLC logic, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and software diagnostics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently in remote locations and travel extensively within Qatar.
- Valid Qatari driving license preferred.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a significant advantage.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Certifications in relevant equipment platforms or vendor-specific training (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips, Fanuc).
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems (Maximo, SAP PM, Salesforce Field Service).
- Project management experience for equipment installation projects.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other quality management standards.
- Strong analytical and root cause analysis capabilities (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA).
- Customer-focused mindset with a track record of high client satisfaction.
Work Environment
This position is based in Qatar with frequent travel to client sites across the country. The role requires flexibility to work outside standard hours, including weekends and holidays, for emergency service calls. The Senior Service Engineer will operate in diverse environments including hospitals, laboratories, manufacturing plants, and industrial facilities.
