Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Communications and Outreach Manager to lead and execute comprehensive communications strategies, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and outreach campaigns that amplify the organization's mission and programs. This is a senior-level position based in Tunis, Tunisia, requiring a strategic thinker with deep experience in public relations, digital communications, and advocacy messaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization's overall communications and outreach strategy aligned with programmatic goals and organizational priorities.
- Lead media relations efforts, including building relationships with journalists, drafting press releases, and securing media coverage across traditional and digital platforms.
- Oversee the organization's digital presence, including social media management, website content, email newsletters, and online campaigns.
- Craft compelling narrative and messaging frameworks for programs, events, and advocacy initiatives focused on civic engagement and democratic participation.
- Manage stakeholder communications, including donors, partners, beneficiaries, and institutional counterparts in both English and Arabic.
- Coordinate and promote public events, panel discussions, debates, and community forums organized by the initiative.
- Supervise and mentor communications team members, freelancers, and consultants as needed.
- Monitor and analyze communications metrics and media analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Ensure brand consistency and messaging coherence across all organizational materials, publications, and platforms.
- Collaborate with the Washington D.C. office and program teams to align global and regional communications efforts.
Requirements
Hard Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in communications management, public relations, or outreach, preferably within non-profit organizations, NGOs, or international organizations.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful integrated communications campaigns.
- Strong proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, content management systems, and media monitoring tools.
- Excellent editorial and writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality content including press releases, op-eds, reports, speeches, and social media copy.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in French is a strong advantage.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing is a plus.
